If swallowing a spoonful of the flaming hot sushi spice known as wasabi could have an effect on a fatal disease, would you do it?

We bet you ten dollars that somebody out there would. In fact, they already have! His name is Darius Weems, and he’s the star of a multi-award-winning documentary called Darius Goes West.

CLICK HERE NEXT – HOW THE GOSLABI CHALLENGE WORKS

The Goslabi Challenge is a fun way for any individual or group to get involved in the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

There are four key steps in a successful Goslabi Challenge, and contestants who follow these steps are eligible for some pretty awesome prizes.

STEP 1 – SIGN UP

As you saw in the short video to the right, we’re asking our bravest supporters to commit to eating one spoonful of goslabi for the cause. You can sign up as an individual or as a group.

STEP 2 – FIND A SPONSOR FOR YOUR SPOON

When you (or your team) make the commitment, you’ll be asked to set a fund-raising goal. We’ll set you up with a fund-raising page that reflects this goal, and we’ll even feature your page in the “sponsor a spoon” section of this website.

IMPORTANT – No one should eat any goslabi until your fund-raising goal is met

Once your fund-raising page is created, you can use it–along with the other tools we provide–to find sponsors for your spoon and raise money for promising DMD research.

STEP 3 – VIDEO TAPE YOURSELF EATING THE GOSLABI

You signed up. You met your fund-raising goal! Now it is time to eat Goslabi!

Grab your spoon(s) & your video camera(s), and record yourself (and your friends) sacrificing their taste buds for the cause. Once you’ve swallowed the last bit of sushi spice on your spoon, hit the editing room and make cinema history! Use your imagination and our video tips, to make the best video possible, because we’re offering cool prizes in categories like creativity, camaraderie, and compassion. Click here to learn more.

STEP 4 – UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO TO OUR SITE

After you’ve put the final touches on your video, visit the Darius Goes West Video Uploader and send us the file. Once we receive your video, we’ll add a little information about DGW to the beginning and the end of it (why?), and then we’ll publish it here on the site (why shouldn’t I publish it myself?).

Once the video is published on our site, you can reward all of the amazing people who sponsored your spoon, and show the world that you survived the Goslabi Challenge. All videos published on this site are eligible for some cool prizes.
